Minimalist Staircase

Praxis Statement embodies a journey of self-reflection exploring my interest in the urban planning field shaped by the experiences in the global south. It illustrates the transition to the global north to gain knowledge from the best practices, and my future aspiration to practice as a global planning practitioner in the international development field. My past has shaped my identity and the motivation to study community planning. My present journey of graduate studies in Master of Community planning is preparing me for the future through skill and ethical development as a planner.

This reflection is an insight into my thought process that molds the values, beliefs, and ethics that I bring into the practice of planning. The first part of the statement focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of planning, the second part narrates the value conflicts faced within the profession and as a global south citizen practicing in the North American environment, and the last part situates me as a planner in the globalized context. This journey will relate to everybody in some profound ways.
